Foster The People...
Much has taken place since our last newsletter, and as we look forward to summer, we’re excited to share these most recent thoughts, happenings and lessons learned.
Dear GRG Client,
Welcome to the latest installment of the Staples Golf Quarterly! Much has taken place since our last newsletter, and as we look forward to summer, we’re excited to share these most recent thoughts, happenings and lessons learned.
To begin, we'll take a quick look at some of the great progress being made at Meadowbrook, and our latest efforts in video production! Second, we've just released our white paper on Community Links, which features an up-close look at the state of Municipal golf and the market’s need for innovation. Lastly, the City of Hobbs’ strong vision and commitment to the game of golf continues to be acknowledged! Our latest award for Rockwind comes from Golf Inc. Magazine, which recognizes Rockwind as a "Development of the Year!"
Much to discuss!... Let’s begin.
Gettin' Our Boots Dirty
Spring is here, and we’re back into our renovation of Meadowbrook CC in Michigan. As we'll be doing throughout the project, here is a quick video update of our progress on hole #1! Your's truly makes a guest appearance about 1/4 of the way through, but the whole 3 minutes give you some good insight into the process; please enjoy this feature presentation! (The song used in the footage is Helena Beat by Foster the People.)
Innovate or Close???
We’re happy to announce the release of a white paper on Community Links and the status of Municipal golf in America. We contend that innovation is key for these struggling Municipal courses to succeed in the future, and without it, closing entirely becomes a real possibility. Please take the time to read this paper, and share it with your colleagues. We’re not claiming to have all the answers, but we do feel Community Links is proving to be a verifiable alternative when approaching Municipal golf. You can download it here. Please let us know what you think!
Keep Them Coming!!
We're glad to add Golf Inc.'s Top Five Honorable Mention for 2015 Developments of the Yearto Rockwind's trophy case! Grabbing this award against some stiff competition in Coore & Crenshaw's Cabot Cliffs (Inverness, Nova Scotia), and Devries’ Cape Wickham Links(Tasmania, AUS) confirms how a strong vision, great team, and a conviction for follow through can make a difference. Honestly, as far as publicity goes for a brand new course, we couldn't have been more blessed than with the accolades Rockwind had already received. Congrats again to the City of Hobbs and to everyone that made the project a success!
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any feedback or comments; I love hearing from you guys! Also, don't be shy about sharing the video on social media if you get the chance; the more eyeballs on that kind of stuff, the better we do. Until next time...
Thanks for reading!
